Acts 4:13

“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.”

This verse should be highlighted in every believer’s Bible because it holds great encouragement for each of us. Peter and John were speaking the truth of God with power, and nobody could argue against them. You could pass over this fact as relatively insignificant since these two were apostles, but they were uneducated and untrained, and the people knew it.

People marveled at Peter and John’s words. Eventually, they remembered that these rough and tough Galilean fishermen had been with Jesus. Therein is the key.

It’s Jesus in you that causes people to marvel.

God uses the most unlikely people to reveal Himself. You can go to seminary and earn a doctorate in theology, and that’s great. But God isn’t interested in what you bring to the table. His methods are far different. God has placed within you His Spirit so that when human estimation says you can’t, His divine power at work proves otherwise.

Psalm 19 says that the entire observable universe reveals the glory of the invisible God, and yet, you and I have been tapped to make Him visible. How so? A sanctified, Spirit-filled life places Him on display in ways that an unbeliever can’t dispute. When we act in accordance with the Word of God, we become the representatives of Christ that He intends.

Walk with Jesus, and He will open doors. Spend time with Jesus, and you will confound the world.

Awaiting His return,

– Pastor Jack
