Matthew 5:13, 14

“You are the salt of the earth…You are the light of the world.”

Whether it’s a tropical island, the vast continent of Africa, or somewhere in-between, God intentionally positions His people throughout the world. If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, He has placed you where you are for this reason: to be salt and light.

I know dieticians will disagree, but the world needs more salt. Think about it. From cookies to lasagna, salt makes everything taste better, and spiritually speaking, our love, joy, and peace act as flavor enhancers in others’ lives. And not only that, but salt also makes us thirsty. As others see us living out God’s grace in situations like theirs, may they desire the living water that only Jesus can supply.

God is calling you when you’re on vacation, in the workplace,

on the sports field, or seated in an airplane

to be bold, be strong, be salty, and shine His light.

A believer filled with the light of the Holy Spirit and the truth of God’s Word can’t help being a luminary in a spiritually dark world – a light that penetrates even the darkest and hardest of hearts.

The Lord invites you to do the seemingly impossible, and in it, He gets all the glory, and you get all the thrill. I urge you to find out why God has placed you where you are and then challenge yourself to obey His call.

Every moment of your life is God-ordained – don’t lose your saltiness and always let your light shine.

Do you belong to Jesus Christ? Have you followed Him only to experience wave after wave of trouble? Are you being tossed by fear and doubt over how it will end? Then insert your name and circumstance into this account and its eventual outcome because the same LORD is with you today.

Rest in His power alone and trust Him to take you over to the other side.

Awaiting His return,

– Pastor Jack
