Galatians 5:13

“For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.”

What you are about to hear is for the Christian only – Jesus set us free from the bondage of this world and liberated us for service. Christ Himself left us no greater example than actively and practically serving one another. Every believer ought to be able to answer the question: What service are you lovingly and obediently offering to the body of Christ, in Jesus’ name?

Salvation guarantees we’re heaven-bound, but we exercise the greatest freedom that a soul can know in this life whenever we serve one another.

Ministering in Jesus’ name is the most exhilarating, energizing, and rewarding venture

that a believer can employ.

Jesus said, “If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.” (John 12:26) Christians serve others. It’s in our new spiritual DNA!

Each of us is given opportunities – God-appointed tasks – to join in the work of bringing others closer to Christ. I am convinced that He is waiting for His people, right here and right now, to say, “Here I am Lord, use me.”

Are you following Jesus? If so, there needs to be action following the statement that you are a Christ-follower. So, ask Him, “Lord, where are You calling me to serve?” And then, open your eyes and look around. See what needs doing in your local church, get up, and go for it in Jesus’ power and strength!

Awaiting His return,

– Pastor Jack
